Another thing that I find odd is that often when they release an expansion they only provide the most bare bones set of midi for it possible without any expanded midi available. They lean toward metal and rock with aggressive loops and fills to match. I emailed Toontrack a bit ago with this same suggestion, put in the nicest possible way. Intro/verse/chorus/fills/etc.* but I'm* not finding the midi packs that do it for me!Thanks for your input. Do those come with a lot of patterns and fills I can use?I* do like the way the patterns are laid out. I already ordered the Indie folk and Latin Percussion EZX packs. Do you have any suggestions without giving me hundreds of fills and patterns I'll never use?Would the songwriters edition be a good choice for my situation?* I wasn't crazy about some of the fills I sampled. Don't want over the top drum tracks.just simple tasteful beats and grooves and some nice simple fills without all the bombast.* And do some basic recording on my DAW. I'd like to create drum tracks for these original songs that an acoustic/electric duo can perform live with. But I would rather start out with drum parts that are closer to what I need from the start. Even though you can control the velocity on the toontrack midi it still seems like most patterns are played too aggressively.*I know you can tame some of the drums in the mixing. I haven't found the more simple straightforward tasteful fills that can be found in many 3rd party midi patterns. Its like toontrack is trying to blow you away and wow the listener with these aggressive overly played parts.including many fills. *Īfter searching through the midi pack samples and trying out the fills and the fills that come with the demo of EZdrummer I find the same thing that others agree with on forums like gearslutz etc. Most of the toontrack midi drum patterns and fills are too bombastic and too busy. I use pop shuffles a lot like the Lovin' Spoonful's "Do You Believe In Magic" beat. Also some jazzy pop like Bacharach and Steely Dan and some R&B. also folk and indie jangle rock like Byrds, Neil Young and REM. *I am a songwriter who's songs are influenced by 60's/70's pop mostly. i should note that a few cymbals do work depending on the midi file but often they don'tĬan you please offer advice or create a bug ticket on studio drummer so hopefully this can get fixed ? i can send you midi files if that helps but see the screenshot.

i've tried the superior drummer preset for midi mapping same result no cymbals. however on the toontrack midi file which says its compatible with ezdrummer this most likely should be a ride cymbal as there are no other cymbal midi notes being played at the same time so its not designed to be a choke looks like and wouldn't sound right anyway. i understand in studio drummer that a choke articulation has to have another cymbal being played to do anything. the midi notes are landing on a note that makes no sound i looked at the midi mapping and the note the cymbal is on is mapped as "China - Choke". but the cymbals are often totally missing. Hello i am having an issue trying to map a toontrack ezdrummer compatible midi file to studio drummer using the ezdrummer midi mapping preset option available within the options on studio drummer
